Samsung released its Odyssey G9 also G7 curved gaming monitors globally earlier this year, Samsung made both models in India. Revealed at CES 2020 in early January, these devices “will reinvent the gaming experience by joining comfortable shape, immersive interaction and perfect picture quality,” the company said in an official press release announcing the India launch.

While the Odyssey G9 appears with a 49-inch panel, this G7 is offered in 27-inch also 32-inch options. They are the “world’s first 1000R gaming monitors,” which means people have a 1,000-millimeter radius of curvature that agrees with the curve of this human eye for maximum immersion and minimal eyestrain. They have also achieved the industry’s first “Visual Comfort” certification from the leading certification organization, TÜV Rheinland.

Samsung Odyssey G9 has a 49-inch screen that offers a native resolution “Dual Quad-HD” (DQHD; 5120 × 1440), presenting it the first consumer monitor in the world to offer that pixel density. Other specs include 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 32: 9 aspect ratio, deep, wraparound 1000R curve, also 1000 cd / m2 maximum brightness. It also highlights Samsung’s Quantum dot technology combined with an HDR1000 VA panel to create natural colors.

The G9 becomes a striking new design with a bright white exterior and futuristic “infinity core” lighting at the rear, including 52 colors and five lighting effect options. The featured design and lighting effects complement any gaming setup, the company said in a statement.

Like its bigger brother, the Odyssey G7 also features a fast 1ms response time with a 240Hz refresh rate and Quantum dot technology. However, unlike the G9, the G7 has a standard WQHD resolution (2,560 × 1,440 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and a maximum brightness of 600 cd / m2. It also comes with NVIDIA G-Sync and Adaptive-Sync support on DP1.4.

The Odyssey G7 also appears with a color-changing rear core lighting system also can change colors based on player preferences. The company has also added dynamic shapes and lighting effects to this front of the monitor for a striking visual effect.

Price and Availability

Odyssey G9 and G7 are available for pre-booking in India from November 25 (i.e. today) to December 31, 2020, with special gift deals. These monitors are priced in this range of Rs. 49,000 to Rs. 1.99,000, but it is currently unknown when they will start shipping.

The company’s official website in India has also listed a 27-inch Odyssey G5 model, which is expected to be the cheapest of all.

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the flagship Galaxy S21 series earlier than usual, in January early next year. If you’re catching up, one of the most prominent rumors is that the Galaxy S21 series will come with S Pen support. The extensive leak of the new Galaxy S21 series has again generated rumors of the cancellation of the Galaxy Note series next year.

Just hours back bringing you the full specs of the three upcoming Galaxy S21 devices, Android Police’s Max Weinbach took to Twitter to list the flagship phones that Samsung would add to its portfolio in 2021. It features the successors to the Galaxy S20, S20 FE, Galaxy Z Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip (via SamMobile).

Weinbach added a follow-up tweet telling that three of these devices will be S Pen compatible. These are most likely the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Z Flip 3, and Z Fold 3, also not all models in the Galaxy S series. Now, this S Pen has been the hallmark of the Galaxy Note series. And well, if you see at the list closely, the Galaxy Note 21 series is not on Samsung’s flagship phone list for next year. Was that a shock?

If this wasn’t enough, one of Samsung’s most popular forecasters, Ice Universe, has contributed his bit to the discussion. As you can view in the tweet below, “there is currently no information about the development of this Note 21 series,” he adds. There is a strong possibility that the loaded series of stylus pens will be phased out next year.

All these rumors are leaks period in one direction: the passing of the Galaxy Note 21 series. In addition to working on its next-gen Galaxy devices and the new TWS earphones, Samsung is now working on a new kind of smartphone, following the trend for flexible displays. According to a recent patent, the Seoul-based tech giant is now working on a one-of-a-kind smartphone that comes with a wraparound display and transparent casing.

The report comes from popular Dutch media, LetsGoDigital, and claims that Galaxy smartphone makers have filed a patent on a one-of-a-kind device for the company with a wraparound screen and unique sliding mechanism. The 70-page patent, loosely called “Electronic Device,” states that there will be no physical buttons on the device and it will have a 100% screen-to-body ratio

The device will have no bezel and there will be screen space everywhere. Also, Samsung claims that they will use a transparent case for the device. The company can use transparent acrylic or polymeric materials that can transmit light to make this special housing.

So this, according to the patent, can open up many possibilities for the device. For example, the device could be adapted to an environment (like a chameleon) by combining the transparent housing and the array of external camera sensors.

Now, speaking of the sensors, the device comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an under-display camera sensor on the front. However, as the device is primarily a screen, both front and rear, the company hid the main rear camera behind the unique sliding mechanism I mentioned earlier. So at first glance, the rear camera wouldn’t be visible to users until they slid down the wraparound display a bit.

So, as you can imagine, Samsung’s potentially revolutionary device will look quite futuristic for consumers. However, the chances of the device hitting the market in the near future are quite low as it is still in its concept stage.

Nonetheless, it is always good to see what the major players in the smartphone industry are doing with future smartphones. And according to the report, Samsung, when it launches the device, could add it to the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Almost a month after revealing some key details about its upcoming Exynos 1080 mobile SoC, Samsung Electronics has announced that it will be officially unveiled on November 12. It is expected to replace the Exynos 980 as the company’s top mid-range mobile processor, the Exynos 1080. It will be based on an efficient 5nm process which is said to be the same LPE node used for the upcoming Snapdragon 875 SoC. .

That’s according to the director of the Samsung Semiconductor China Research Institute, Dr. Pan Xuebao, who revealed last month that the chip will come with the new ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores and the ARM Mali-G78 GPU. He also claimed that the chip exceeds 650,000 points in AnTuTu even while still in development. For comparison, high-end Android phones with Snapdragon 865 hover around the ~ 600,000 mark, so the next processor certainly looks promising.

It’s worth noting that Samsung is rumored to be working on two different mobile processors, at least one of which is said to feature AMD graphics. One of them is Exynos 1080, the other is believed to be the Exynos 2100, which is expected to power the company’s flagship Galaxy S21 series smartphones next year. While there isn’t much information on that front, it is expected to have the core of ARM’s Super CPU Cortex-X1, according to recent reports.

There doesn’t seem to be any more information on the Exynos 1080 at this point, but reports suggest that Vivo will be the first company to launch a phone with the new chipset. While neither Samsung nor Vivo have confirmed the exact model, insider Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) has claimed that the Vivo X60 could be the first device to work with the upcoming chipset.

Qualcomm usually reveals its next-gen flagship silicon in December, and we expect the latest chipset (SM8350) to be called the Snapdragon 875.

Taiwan’s TSMC has largely made the latest generations of Qualcomm’s flagship processors, but Business Korea and Hankyung report that the Snapdragon 875 will now be made by Samsung Electronics.

The previous post notes that the Snapdragon 875 will be manufactured in a 5nm process, making it a smaller size than the current generation Snapdragon 865 series. Companies such as Apple, Huawei, MediaTek, and Samsung are also assumed to adopt 5nm designs for their flagship processors.

Business Korea reports that Qualcomm’s contract to make the new silicon is worth $ 1 billion and that mass production of the new chipset is underway. It adds that the Samsung Galaxy S30 series, as well as phones from Xiaomi and Oppo, will use the new processor, which is generally part of the Snapdragon flagship hardware course.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Samsung has produced a Snapdragon flagship chipset, as it previously made the 2016 Snapdragon 820. However, it would represent a huge victory for Samsung if confirmed.
