Since Poco de Xiaomi became an independent brand, the company has been selling smartphones in India. While Poco was planning to expand its portfolio with truly wireless headphones dubbed Poco Pop Buds earlier this year, it looks like Poco could enter the laptop segment in the country before that happens.
As whistleblower Mukul Sharma discovered, two models of laptop batteries recently passed through the certification website of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The battery models: R15B02W and R14B02W are listed under the Mi and Poco brands.
Poco Laptop: A Rebrand Mi Notebook Pro 15?
The R15B02W battery model belongs to the Mi Notebook Pro 15. In case you don’t know, Xiaomi launched the Mi Notebook Pro 15 in China this June. Searching for the battery model directs us to AliExpress’s listing of the Mi Notebook Pro. Although this is not conclusive evidence, it does suggest that the first Poco laptop could be a rebranded Mi Notebook Pro.

Poco is not the only smartphone brand that becomes to shown interest in this laptop segment. Earlier this week, Nokia launched its lightweight PureBook X14 notebook in the country. Regarding more brand’s show, interest in launching new laptops in India is great for customers because there are more choices to choose from. It will be interesting to see if this trend applies in the future.
